Juan Carlos de la Llera

Chairman

Académico de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, es ingeniero civil y profesor titular del Departamento de Ingeniería Estructural y Geotécnica de dicha casa de estudios. M.Sc. y Ph.D. de la Universidad de California, Berkeley, se especializó en modelamiento y dinámica estructural, sistemas de reducción de vibraciones y riesgo sísmico. Cuenta con numerosas publicaciones en revistas de alto prestigio internacional y ha obtenido financiamiento de investigaciones Fondecyt, Fondef, y diversos fondos gubernamentales.

De la Llera is an advisor to the National Council of Innovation for Development (CNID), a member of the Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC), and a partner of Sirve. A pioneer in the development of systems to reduce vibrations in structures, in 2013 the anti-seismic technology he developed was included in the Better World Report of AUTM (Association of University Technology Managers), which records advances that improve the quality of life around the world.

In 2016, he chaired the Presidential Commission for Resilience to Natural Disasters (Creden), an initiative that laid the institutional foundations for Itrend.

Marcela Angulo

Vice President

Director of the Santiago branch of Universidad de Concepción, former manager of technological capabilities at Corporación de Fomento de la Producción (Corfo), between 2014 and 2018, and former corporate manager of sustainability for Anglo American Cobre (Operations), between 2011 and 2014. Angulo is a civil engineer with a specialization in hydraulics and sanitation, and holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the Universidad de Concepción.

With more than 20 years of experience in sustainability, innovation and technology transfer, Angulo has also held important management positions at Fundación Chile, the National Environmental Commission (Conama) and the EULA-Chile Center for Research and Training in Environmental Sciences at the University of Concepción.

Alejandro Jofré

Secretary

Professor of the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences of the Universidad de Chile, Mathematical Civil Engineer from the same university and PhD in Applied Mathematics from the Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour, France. He has been deputy director and director of the Center for Mathematical Modeling at the same university, and is currently the Prorector of this university.

As an academic, he has led research projects and developed optimization tools for price analysis, planning and market behavior for energy systems, telecommunications markets and sustainable exploitation of natural resources such as copper, energy and forestry.

Nicolas Bronfman

Treasurer

Industrial Civil Engineer and PhD in Engineering Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is currently Academic Vice Rector of Universidad Andrés Bello and Principal Investigator of the Research Center for Integrated Disaster Risk Management (CIGIDEN). He was part of the National Commission for Resilience to Natural Disasters (CREDEN) that developed the National R&D&I Strategy for a Resilient Chile. His areas of expertise are the management and analysis of health and environmental risks, risk perception, and analysis of vulnerability and resilience to social and natural disasters.

Juan Carlos Olmedo

Director

Juan Carlos Olmedo is the President of the National Electric Coordinator. He is a Civil Industrial Engineer, with a major in electricity, from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He holds an MBA from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and a Certificate in Management from the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.

He has more than 30 years of experience in the electricity sector in Chile and Latin America. He has served in executive positions on the boards of directors of electric utilities and foundations.

Social Worker from the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción, with diplomas from the Universidad Alberto Hurtado in Social Policies, Development and Poverty, from the Universidad Católica de Temuco in Supervision from a Critical-Reflective Perspective and in Security and Defense in Disaster Risk Management from the National Academy of Political and Strategic Studies (ANEPE). Master in Risk Management, specializing in emergencies, at the Online Business School for Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs of Madrid (EALDE) and the Catholic University of Murcia.
Currently Executive Director of Movidos x Chile. For more than 11 years she has worked in public service as well as in foundations and civil society organizations, focusing on community, education and DRM.

Álvaro Hormazábal, Director Senapred

Desde 2016, ejerció como director regional de Tarapacá de la ex ONEMI, luego de desempeñarse durante 23 años como Oficial de Ejército, principalmente en la Región de Aysén. Allí, participó en acciones de rescate anfibias y terrestres, y en tareas de respuesta a la erupción del volcán Chaitén, incendios forestales de Cochrane y en los Comités de Operaciones de Emergencia (COE) en los niveles comunales, provinciales y regionales.
Es magíster en Planificación Estratégica Operacional de la Academia de Guerra del Ejército y tiene numerosos cursos de especialización en la Agencia Federal para el Manejo de la Emergencia (FEMA) de Estados Unidos y en la Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo.

Jorge Claude

Director

Ingeniero Civil con Mención en Estructuras de la Universidad de Chile, Master en Economía y Dirección de Empresas, del Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa (IESE), Barcelona, España.

Fue Vicerrector Económico, Vicerrector Académico, Decano de la Facultad de Economía y Profesor de la Universidad del Norte. Posteriormente, como Gerente de Finanzas de Banmédica S.A., inició las actividades de una compañía de seguros de vida, y una AFP. Fue Gerente de Finanzas de Banrenta Compañía de Seguros de Vida, Director de Estudios de la carrera de Ingeniería Comercial y posteriormente fundador, primer Director Académico y profesor del ESE Business School de la Universidad de los Andes.

Se ha desempeñado como miembro titular de la Comisión Clasificadora de Riesgo de las AFP y miembro del Directorio de diversas empresas. Como Gerente General de la Asociación de Aseguradores de Chile A.G., ha asumido cargos internacionales, llegando a ser Secretario General de FIDES durante dos períodos. En septiembre de 2012 fue nombrado Vicepresidente Ejecutivo de la Asociación de Aseguradores de Chile A.G
