Itrend is a Public Technological Institute mandated by the Chilean State and funded by CORFO. Our team is formed by highly skilled professionals in several areas, such as Natural Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, Social Sciences, among others. We are committed to encourage the resilient development through collaborative work between the Chilean State, industry, the academy and civil society.
Our institute provides an active response to the multiple systemic challenges represented on the problem of natural hazards in Chile. Itrend’s multidisciplinary team brings together skills, along with points of view that allow the organisation to address the challenge of resilience in a more holistic manner. Moreover, our part is not only giving responses, but also facilitating transformations at different levels that are in need, promoting connections and creating systemic solutions provided by third parties.
At Itrend we seek to be pioneers on the search for solutions, data analysis, technological tools creation, monitoring systems, throughout encouraging the participation of all the ecosystem actors. In fact, we believe that educating our civil society and raising awareness on socio-natural disasters hazard are such fundamental methods to making of Chile a more resilient country.

Our company mission is to create goods and services of public interest which could lead to a more developed resilience of Chile as a nation when facing disasters using digital technologies. This point could also be raised working collaboratively with all the actors of the Chilean State, the industry, the Academy, and civil society.
Itrend searches for innovative manners to take advantage of knowledge and technology to reduce the economic, social, and environmental impact of disasters; and, by this way, harnessing this source of knowledge in an opportunity to develop a legacy for the Chilean society.
In a term of 20 years, Itrend will have driven a significant change and improvement of the quality of life for millions of people who have been affected by natural hazards. Thanks to promoting the creation of innovative enabling solutions, we will seek to offer a response to the mandate of the national resilience strategy through the convergence of research and innovation skills. Along so, the institute will have inspired all the actors of the Chilean society to challenge boundaries, preconceptions, and paradigms, with the purpose of generating systemic changes and promoting a sustainable transformation towards a more resilient society.
